On December 28th, Argyle held the inaugural running of the ‘Mark Jagger Cup’ in memory of ‘Mr Argyle Table Tennis’, who sadly passed away recently…and what a magnificent turnout and success it was. 8 teams (32 players) entered and another 15 or so spectators and members laying on refreshments attended, making it a fitting tribute to the man who did so much for both Argyle and the Southport & District league.

The matches were played in a fantastic, but competitive spirit, that epitomised everything Mark was about.

At the end of the tournament, Mark’s wife and daughter presented the amazing trophy they had donated to the winning team, Argyle B, captained by Paul Lunan.

Argyle are already looking forward to the 2024 edition of ‘The Mark Jagger Cup’.
